Senior Analyst, Reservoir Characterization

Scott W. Amos has over 28 years of diverse experience in international petroleum geology, and 18 years of reservoir characterization and field development experience, working within multidisciplinary teams. He has extensive development operations, geologic mapping, characterization, and modeling skills.

Mr. Amos previously held positions of increasing responsibility with Saudi Aramco, most recently as a Senior Geological Consultant. Prior that his work at Saudi Aramco, he as a Senior Geologist with Shell Oil Co.

2005 Innovation Award for Innovative Ideas: Geosteering Operations Center & Real Time Geocellular Modeling

Special Recognition Award 2004 for key contributions to the establishment of Saudi Aramco’s state-of-the-art Geosteering Operations Center.

Special Recognition Award 2001 from Reservoir Management Department for key contributions toward the successful multilateral work over campaign in Shaybah which became the template for the corporate strategy of drilling maximum reservoir contact wells.

Saudi Aramco Geologist of the Year 2000 for contributions toward the development optimization of the Shaybah Oil Field.

Saudi Aramco Team of the Year 1998 as part of the Shaybah Team whose contributions lead to the successful completion and ahead of schedule start-up of the Shaybah Field Development Increment.

Saudi Aramco Team of the Year 1996 as part of the Horizontal Drilling Team for contributions leading to the successful drilling and completion of over 25 horizontal wells.

Best Paper Award of the Society Of Economic Geophysicists for “Bullwinkle: A Unique 3-D Experiment”, J.O’Connell, M. Kohli, S. Amos, 1993, Geophysics, Vol.58, No.1.

Shell Oil Company Special Recognition Award – 1990 for contributions resulting in significant cost saving by reducing the number of required development wells at Bullwinkle Field.
