James P. Sizer

Principal Analyst, Reservoir Management

Jim Sizer is a Principal Analyst of Reservoir Management for QRI with over 30 years of experience across a broad range of assignments in drilling, reservoir, production and gas processing. Mr. Sizer’s first 20 years were spent with Exxon and Saudi Aramco in a variety of reservoir management drilling positions.  He was a reservoir management engineer for Exxon’s Alaska Interest Organization.  His duties included reservoir surveillance for EOR / waterflood patterns, economic evaluations of hydrocarbon miscible gas flood expansions and optimization of WAG floods for the Prudhoe Bay field. His other assignments with Exxon included process engineer for gas plants in Lousisiana and Texas. In this role, his work included evaluating facility modifications, plant profitability, negotiating third party processing agreements and assisting in PLC installations.

As a reservoir management engineer for Saudi Aramco’s giant Northern Area offshore fields (Marjan, Zuluf, and Safaniya) he created surveillance, development and operating plans, and as an offshore drilling engineer with Saudi Aramco he evaluated the first use of MWD technology.
Before joining QRI, Mr. Sizer worked for Valence Operating.  His work included all aspects of a well’s lifecycle from building locations to the final P&A.  The work included new well fracturing and completion techniques as well as managing existing production.

Mr. Sizer received a B. Sc. in chemical engineering from the University of Connecticut and a MBA from Oklahoma University.  He is a professional engineer, and is active in SPE and NACE.  He has authored several SPE papers and has served as section chairman and in other roles at various SPE Chapters.
