Prior to his joining QRI, Sami O. Ajam was President of MEERA (Middle East Energy Research Associates), a firm specializing in Market Research and Business Development for global energy firms.
During his tenure with MEERA Mr. Ajam assisted numerous small oil field services companies expand their geographical market coverage and increase their market shares while at the same time assisting E&P companies, foreign to the market place, gain market entry into Middle East and Asia Pacific. As president of MEERA worked with Middle East energy funds on energy investment opportunities and in 2006 was commissioned by Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC, Kuwait) to deliver an authoritative market study entitled “IOC perspective on E&P investments in the Middle East.”
From 1973 to 2004 Mr. Ajam worked for Halliburton Energy Services. He held numerous global positions within the company including positions in engineering, sales, management, and marketing. Prior to retiring from Halliburton Mr. Ajam’s title was Business Development Manager, Middle East. This position focused on strategy development, long term trends, market segmentation and development, competitor analysis, customer focus, and establishing market leadership in all Halliburton product and service lines for the Middle East region. It was during these 31 years with Halliburton that Mr. Ajam developed outstanding relationships with IOCs and NOCs around the world.
Mr. Ajam has authored one patent (United States Patent 4122387) on resistivity logging while with Halliburton and has published more than 14 technical papers on various aspects of the oil field services new technologies.
Mr. Ajam holds an B.Sc. & M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas-Arlington and Southern Methodist University respectively. In addition, Mr. Ajam completed graduate course work in Reservoir Engineering at the University of Houston.
