Mike T. Strimenos

Principal Analyst, Reservoir Management

Michael Strimenos is a QRI principal analyst whose background includes over 25 years experience working within Saudi Aramco. His area of expertise is within Reservoir Management, with particular emphasis on offshore fields. While holding a supervisory Reservoir Management position in the company he oversaw the management of the world’s largest offshore oil fields, including Safaniya, Marjan, and Zuluf Fields.

Under his governance, Saudi Aramco optimized the overall development of these sandstone reservoirs using a variety of cutting-edge techniques and technologies. In the 90’s Michael helped Marjan field triple its production outputs via strategic well placement of horizontal wells. He was instrumental in reducing the 5 year capital expense program of Berri field by 50% by introducing new completion concepts.
Also during his time at Aramco, Mr. Strimenos oversaw an integrated simulation study that reversed previous predictions of severe decline allowing Aramco to dramatically reduced drilling time over a period of ten years (1995-2005) while still maintaining high production levels.

Michael has extensive knowledge in testing and evaluation of advanced completion technology and best-in-class geosteering methodologies most effective for offshore fields.
